Great Western Railway Stone No.3 as used for buildings up to 1948.

Stone No.3'Dark Stone was used on Columns, roof girders,trusses ad ironwork, roof lights, window frames and associated woodwork, gutters, fallpipes, and panels attached to valences or end of awning or roof.
On timber stations all other frames of the building, doorframes window frames, mullions, window cills, gutters and down pipes were painted in Stone No.3, whilst on brick built buildings it was used for structural woodwork on the outside of the building, gutters and downpipes, doorframes and doors (except panels), wooden plinths at ground level and ironwork (e.g. bars on windows).
Window sashes and glass framing was white on all types of building.

As supplied, a high quality synthetic (oil based) brushing enamel paint.

Stir thoroughly with a spatula (lollipop stick, wooden coffee stirer etc.) for a minimum of 5-10 minutes, or a power stirer. Ensure that you get into the bottom corners of the can and bring any sediment to the surface and stir in.

May be thined if required.

Matt colours may require more thinning.

This product is best brushed or sprayed at a temperature of below 10° Centigrade ( 50°F). and left for a Minimum of 24 - 48 hours to dry before any overcoating or further actions are taken.

Apply over the top of a properly primed surface.
