Cavalex have worked closely with DCRail for a number of months to help take an idea/concept through to a formal design to be reproduced on 60022.

The livery has been developed from extensive research, consultation, and historical information to allow 60022 to be outshopped in its new MR colours. To link with the history of the Class 60, the locomotive is painted in the style of the only other locomotive of the Class to carry a historic railway livery, no. 60081 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel#.
