Simply fill the hopper with ballast, push along the track and you will have (almost) perfectly laid ballast every time. Slight tidying up may be required after spreading using a brush, depending on the level of the ballast you are trying to achieve.

Not suitable for use on points but all other straight and curved track will be fine.

To aviod clogging up of the spreader the ballast must not be more than 2mm in diameter.
